Hungarian Fintech Report

The Hungarian Fintech Association’s first Fintech Report offers insight into the life of the fintech community, which is a key driver in building a thriving economy. While it does not focus on sector statistics – an area excellently covered by the Hungarian National Bank’s annual Fintech Report – our aim is to explore the reality behind the numbers.

The main purpose of the report is to provide a current picture of the fintech industry in Hungary and highlight the people who make up this sector, the trends driving the companies (such as generative AI, open finance, blockchain and ESG) and their responses to these trends. We also address the community’s challenges and we hope, to make Hungary and its fintech ecosystem more attractive to foreign companies.

What we do?

To promote the development and growth of the domestic fintech sector, we collaborate with authorities, institutional players, other industries, and the media. We prepare analyses and background materials to maintain an accurate understanding of the operations of fintech companies in our country. For members of the ecosystem, we provide regular networking opportunities at our events, which focus on knowledge sharing, promoting international best practices, and strengthening the fintech community.

How do we work? 

The association is led by a five-member board chaired by the President. The board members are elected by the general assembly, ensuring their professional expertise and active, up-to-date connections to the fintech ecosystem.

When regulatory needs, legislative change proposals, or supervisory practices arise, the Hungarian Fintech Association can advocate for these issues more effectively through collective effort. Additionally, members receive first-hand updates on planned legislative changes.

We are building strong international connections, allowing members to discover new markets more easily and quickly. We also assist with recruitment by maintaining relationships with higher education institutions and prospective employees interested in fintech. Members can rely on us when looking for highly qualified new hires with a fintech focus.
