The Hungarian Fintech Association (HFA) is an industry organization that brings together all members of the local fintech ecosystem from early-stage startups to mature companies, incubators, and accelerators. Our vision is to make Hungary an attractive country for fintech companies, offering a supportive environment for growth and development.
Our primary goal is to create business opportunities for our members, both in Hungary and internationally. In parallel, we work closely with policymakers, regulators, and public authorities to help shape a more favorable business and regulatory environment for fintech.
We invite HFA members to informal breakfast meetings where we discuss current topics (e.g., neobanks, artificial intelligence, crypto, blockchain) with invited experts.
Our webinar series aims to connect the Hungarian fintech community with international players. We examine how other countries’ ecosystems operate, what regulations are characteristic, and what experiences we can gain from other countries.
In our monthly meetup series organized jointly with Tőkeportál, one of our members presents themselves at each session. Our goal is for members to get to know each other better, creating regular meeting opportunities and thereby encouraging collaboration.
We offer professional development opportunities for our members through presentations, workshops, and personalized support. The mentoring we provide helps those who are new to the industry or need guidance for next steps with support from experienced professionals.
Budapest Fintech Week is Hungary’s first and only international, multi-day fintech conference, organized annually by the Hungarian Fintech Association (HFA) with the support of collaborating partners, and co-created by the fintech community. Our vision is to make Budapest a key meeting point for Western European, Middle Eastern, and Southeast Asian fintech ecosystems, strengthening the city’s financial sector and enhancing its regional significance.
The annually published English-language Fintech Report aims to present the current state of the domestic fintech ecosystem and its key players, map out regulatory changes and future developments, and analyze current trends such as Blockchain, ESG, and generative AI.
