The Hungarian Fintech Association (HFA) is an industry organization that brings together all members of the local fintech ecosystem from early-stage startups to mature companies, incubators, and accelerators. Our vision is to make Hungary an attractive country for fintech companies, offering a supportive environment for growth and development.
Our primary goal is to create business opportunities for our members, both in Hungary and internationally. In parallel, we work closely with policymakers, regulators, and public authorities to help shape a more favorable business and regulatory environment for fintech.
To support the growth and development of the Hungarian fintech sector, we collaborate with authorities, institutional stakeholders, representatives of other industries, and the media.We prepare regular analyses and background materials to provide an accurate and up-to-date understanding of how fintech companies operate in Hungary.
Through our Legal Working Group, we engage in active dialogue with legislators and supervisory bodies to help shape a regulatory environment that is transparent and supportive for all players.
We organize regular events and networking opportunities for members of the ecosystem, focusing on knowledge sharing, showcasing international best practices, and strengthening the fintech community. We host international business forums and matchmaking events to help our members establish new business relationships. We also support fintech companies looking to enter the EU market via Hungary, helping them navigate the local ecosystem.
We offer educational programs for SMEs on digital finance and deliver university-level courses to share our expertise with the next generation.
The association is led by a seven-member board chaired by the President. The board members are elected by the general assembly, ensuring their professional expertise and active, up-to-date connections to the fintech ecosystem.
All stakeholders in the Hungarian fintech ecosystem including banks, governmental representatives, big tech companies, tech startups must join forces in order to contribute to the success of the fintech sector and thus to the development of the national economy.
